Claire Waghorn

Sustainability

Growing up, Claire’s favourite book was Dr Seuss’s The Lorax.  She was the kid that created ‘beach clean-up posters’ and wrangled friends to come and pick up rubbish when they’d much rather be playing (like normal kids). On the plus side this sense of purpose stuck and enabled Claire to pick a career pathway in sustainability that is both purpose-driven and values aligned.

Claire holds a Law degree, is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and obtained a first class Masters of Science from the London School of Economics.

She has been working in climate action and sustainability for 14 years, starting her career on the legislative/frameworks side, at both a national and global level. Claire now works as the Sustainable Transition Leader for Christchurch International Airport and loves being on the implementation side - setting best practice strategic direction for climate action and sustainability.
