Rob Kirkwood

Organisational Performance

Rob Kirkwood is a health and safety leader, trainer, mentor and coach, and runs his own independent consulting business Rob Kirkwood - Change Driver, where he helps small and medium organisations build sustainable safety leadership capability while improving the synergy between health and safety teams and operations.  

Rob is also part of the Safety on Tap team, an Australian business that specialises in supporting senior health and safety leaders and their teams with 1:1 and group coaching.

Rob is an advocate and early adopter of contemporary safety theories such as Safety Differently and Human and Organisational Performance and utilizes his operational experience in integrating these concepts throughout businesses. Rob also provides guidance to organisations on how to learn from failure, success and everyday work, and uses human-centered design to learn from those closest to the work.

Rob has over 35 years experience as a safety leader working in a number of high risk industries including electricity, industrial waste, transportation and outdoor adventure and the last 18 years in the energy sector in Taranaki.  Rob also has extensive experience working in the alpine regions of New Zealand, Norway and Antarctica as a mountain guide, guiding assessor, search and rescue team leader and instructor.

Rob is a dedicated father of three great kids and lives on a small farm in rural Taranaki in NZ.
