Suran Dickson

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Mediation

Suran is an expert in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; she uses neuroscience, anecdotal evidence from her many years of teaching young people, and a good dose of humour to help people understand and overcome a myriad of workplace challenges. To deliver on operational objectives, companies need to get the best out of their people – to do this, leaders, and in fact, all staff, need to be emotionally intelligent, culturally curious and constantly upgrading their communication skills.

Having been a teacher and then a charity CEO in London, Suran moved back to Ōtautahi to work with a range of industries including media, electricity distribution, transport, education and health to engage, educate and inspire change needed to achieve a truly inclusive culture. She works with executive and people leader groups on both enhancing leadership skills and driving EDI, along with wider staff groups to facilitate eye-opening discussion on tough topics such as below the line banter, tricky diversity issues, innate bias and tribalism, how to have courageous conversations and what being an ally actually means.

Strategic advice, facilitated strategy sessions, leadership coaching, keynotes, cultural reviews and EDI workshops all fall under Suran’s banner; she thrives on getting to know clients in partnership and working collaboratively to solve their people problems. Suran is also a trained mediator, having mediated numerous workplace interpersonal conflicts and supported teams with ongoing conflict issues.
